On the Battle of Isandlwana In Which the Mighty Zulu Nation Crushed a One Thousand Man Contingent of British Redcoats West of the Buffalo River (Circa 1879)

I enjoy reading about this battle for two reasons. a) It counters the admittedly great British triumph at Roarke's Drift where one day later an even smaller contingent of soldiers fended off at least 10,000 warriors (the British often begin a story in the middle and this is a good example of it). And b) it's a big slap in the face to these same Brits who were quick to dismiss the great Boer victory at the Battle of Blood River where the odds were even more immense than they were at Isandlwana (600-something Boers versus 20,000 Zulus).............Oh, and here's another great factoid. The Battle of Isandlwana was the worst defeat which the mighty British army had ever suffered anywhere within their colonial empire at the hands of native forces.......Probably why they didn't make a film about it, huh (as they did with Roarke's Drift with the classic, "Zulu!")?
