To Those Who Think That Simply By Removing All Jews From the Middle East Peace Will Suddenly Prevail, This
"Shiites are worse than Jews; Iran produces nuclear bombs against the Sunnis, not against Israel.".....Egyptian cleric, Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal.........."The Shiites are being driven by a greed to take over Muslim countries and they are full of a wish to annihilate Sunnis. Their threat to Islam and its people is much bigger than that of Jews and Christians.".....Al Qaeda henchman, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman.........."They (the Shiites) are the most evil creatures under the heavens.".....Osama bin Laden..........................................................................................I mean, come on, let's face it here, folks - that whole region has always been a cauldron of war. But, yeah, I know, I KNOW, it's always much easier to blame the Jews.

Hi Will,Happy New Year.I'm back from freezing in Boise.
IMO those Muslims/Christians who blame all their problems on Jews are more than offset by the vast majority of US citizens who blame all the mideast problems on Palestinians thanks to the way the media portrays the issues.
I have a coworker who is typical. The other day he was talking about Muslim violence against Jews, and how if the Palestinians would just peacefully demonstrate and march instead of shooting rockets and blowing themselves up they would have the whole world behind them.
I told him " you mean like the First and Second Intifadas? something like that?".
His reply-The What?
Typical.
I didn't know that the intifadas (replete with molotov cocktails and stones) were peaceful demonstrations. And the second one occurred right after Barak offered Arafat essentially everything that the latter "said" he wanted. But the most disgusting thing about the intifadas to me was the way that the P.A. kept using their children as foil (look at the footage, virtually no adults are out there). And they do this on purpose for the sole purpose of eliciting world sympathy. Look, Oso, I WANT a Palestinian state as much as anybody. I'm just waiting for their "leadership" to accept one.
Will,
I agree the leadership has their own agenda, but what can you expect with Israel having funded Hamas to split Fatah ?
The 1st Intifada was peaceful.civil disobedience, boycotts, strikes. Only when the Israelis began gassing, rubber bulleting and breaking the bones of demonstrators did the violence become two sided.
You must admit, that was when the US media gave it coverage.Palestinians throwing rocks, so the US public wouldn't question retaliation.
The 2nd Intifada was more of the same, it just escalated quicker after Sharon violated that Temple Mount thing.
The IDF regularly uses Palestinians as human shields, of course no coverage here either. Only of Palestinians using their children or Hamas using that poor retarded kid.
I don't support a two-state solution, personally. there should be free elections like the Minority Report suggested in 1948. Never gonna happen though.
Will,
BTW I know your heart's in the right place. I probably don't even need to mention that, but will anyway.
It's just that I get so tired of hearing people, even those who oppose the Iraq war, talk about the Palestinians like they're murderous animals. There's several Palestinian communities here in the Bay Area, some of them Christian and they're almost stunned when they hear an American say something good about them.
Oso, what in the history between these 2 peoples tells you that they could co-exist peacefully as one? The only workable solution, in my opinion, is to have 2 states side by side..................And while, yes, I do have sympathy for the Palestinians, I must admit, I have significantly more for the Tibetans, Kurds, and Armenians. As far as I know, these groups did not support the Kaiser, Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein, and Osama bi Laden (I still remember that little victory dance that they, the Palestinians, did as our towers were coming down). Nor have they turned down statehood (something that the Palestinians never demanded from Jordan, 1948-1967) on multiple occasions.
Oso, The Jerusalem Post has covered these allegations very well. They, however (unlike the Arab sources), allow both sides of the stories to be told. Ehud Barak has categorically stated that this is not the policy of the IDF and that, yes, there are still ongoing investigations. If in fact they are found to be true, then, yes, I agree with you completely. These men should absolutely be court-marshalled and made to serve hard time, period.
