a) Testing for COVID tightens up considerably (the cycle-threshold goes way down, additional criteria are used, etc.) and the number of reported cases plummets. b) Only people who die FROM COVID will be included in the death-tally making this stat also go down. And c) the Biden administration claims that these improved numbers are from his buffoonish mask mandate and a victory is declared. You see this way the economy is allowed to rebound from businesses reopening and a 2022 Congressional wipe-out potentially averted. It's just a theory.
