On the Oscar Viewership Gradually Going Down from 43.6 Million In 2014 to 9.8 Million this Year, a 77.5% Decrease

 I'm gonna' go out on a limb here and say that it's probably because the average American doesn't want to be bombarded with a plethora of low-IQ woke buffoonery and would much prefer to kick back and watch Casablanca, A Place In the Sun, Goodfellas, All About Eve, Deliverance, or Shane for the fiftieth time. It certainly was my excuse (The Night of the Hunter being my choice).
