Yep, and if it wasn't for Charles Martel in France and the Byzantines in Asia Minor (Presently Called Turkey), those two places would have fallen as well (the latter ultimately was conquered in 1453).......So, ya' still think that the Crusades (and, yes, there were excesses there as well - no doubt) which didn't come about until 1095 were an offensive enterprise and a moral equivalent to modern-day jihad?
