On the Fact that the Soviet GDP in the 1970s and '80s Was Occasionally Bigger than that of the U.S.A.'s

Lots of weapons, lots of boondoggles/bridges to nowhere, not enough bread, milk, meat, etc........Central planning at its finest, in other words.

And the Soviet colonial war against the Third World was in full flower. Lots of expenditure... and hundreds of thousands of bodies... to show for that.
