On Cindy McCain Recently Admitting that "We All Knew What He (Epstein) Was Doing" but that No One In the Legal Sphere Could Do Anything About it Because They Were Scared

I just have two questions (for now). a) Who is the "we" that she's referencing here? And b) why didn't any of these we people speak up? I mean, I get it that there could be some legal repercussions but if any of these folks are elected officials can't they say damn near anything and not be sued if they utter it on the floor of the Senate or House (the Harry Reid situation, example; him saying that Romney hadn't paid taxes in 10 years)? Seem to recall something like that.
