On the Fact that by 1663, The French Government Under King Louis the 14th Had Literally Banned the Preaching of the Protestant Faith in the Aigues Valley and so it Had Begun, the Systematic Persecution of the Huguenots and Their Ultimate Diaspora to Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, North America, and South Africa

So in this case the French were no better than the Mohammedans (during the first Muslim empire) who had forced the Christians and Jews of their conquered lands to either convert, pay the jizya, or die.............Thankfully it all eventually worked out for these French Huguenots whose ultimate contributions, strong will, and principle in places such as Geneva, Frankfort, the American colonies, and the "French Corner" of South Africa were greatly appreciated.
