IMO, ND had the luck to play some weak Big 10 teams, their usual soft opponents..and the Stanford game hung on the refs at the end. So they were a bit of a paper tiger going up against the Tide. (my Notre Dame friends are probably still ill with game flu..sympathies).

Not that I necessarily like the SEC, either, mind you, but Notre Dame could 0-12 every season and I'd still be rooting against them.
