Former Navy Vice Admiral, war veteran, and Congressman (respected on both sides of the divide), Joe Setak. His experience in the military, education in public administration, and service on the House Armed Services Committee make him the ideal candidate for Secretary of Defense (Panetta can either go back to the CIA or move on over to State).

Omigosh, They Live !
And here he is on Capitol Hill.
Sort of interesting, those military careers: for every Allen West, there seems to be a Joe Sestak.
Allen West. Any guy who bests up an actual terrorist is OK in my book.
He's all the more heroic to me because of all the times I've seen people on the Left bashing him for being black.
heh..'all the times I've seen people on the Left bashing him for being black.' ..sort of like West and his ilk bashing Wasserman-Schultz for being Jewish. If he
is targeted by political opponents,
it isn't his race. Same for W-Schultz.
I didn't miss Grayson when he left and, I won't be missing this West fellow, either.
Like it or not....we need people like Grayson and West in the house...how else could you set left and right boundries?
Yeah, but can't we have some noninflammatory ones? I don't know, kind of like Dennis Kucinich (hard left but not quite an asshole), maybe.
Noninflammatory? Remember Kucinich's endless impeachment rant against Bush?
Point taken but I will also add that he also threatened impeachment for Obama (over Libya).
Sorry, Will, I think that doubles the case that Kucinich is a real nut, not blunts it.
Besides, Khadaffy as a left-wing, strongly socialist leader. Fits in with Kucinich's record of defending such extremists.
He loves to go to bat for the most extreme Left.
Did he ever go on the floor of the House and say that the Republican plan is for people to "die quickly"? I guess what I'm speaking of here is more in terms of tone than ideology.
