On Whether Abortion is Murder

A woman who's a few weeks late with her period and gets herself cleaned out - not murder.............A woman who's 8 1/2 months pregnant and gets an abortion because the baby isn't the "proper" gender - murder.

At the point a fetus has developed to the point it could survive outside the womb with life support it is murder.

Seems that's approximately the end of.the first trimester. Didn't the Supreme Court settle the issue in what, 1972?

People should have left it at that.

Just one man's considered opinion of course.

I guess that there are still a few states in which basically anything goes. It's really kind of creepy, in my opinion.

So far moderation and pragmatism reign here...

Hmmmmm,my faith tells me its a human life at conception.

What is they gave an abortion debate and no one showed up?

Les Carpenter said...

Hmmm, Reason and logic tells me at conception it is an egg and a sperm. Conception happens quite quickly and at that point you have a couple of cells.

I said my faith leads me to that belief RN.

Glad you recognize the difference Rusty.

You think Rusty recognizes the difference between HIS faith and logic and reason? I doubt it.

dmarks said...

He usually has a pretty good handle on reason, actually.

Dervish Z Sanders said...

I've yet to see even one example. And I wouldn't trust your judgment anyway. Most of what dmarks considers "reason" is far from it.

Just another hollow insult from WD, with no specifics or evidence. Like a kid on the playground in 3rd grade flicking boogers at someone.

Dervish Z Sanders said...

I never flicked boogers at anyone. Sounds like something dmarks might do, he being the one whose mind thought up this extremely gross analogy.

Methinks someone got pantsed a few too many times.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Titty-twisted, too.

dmarks said...

And the daily swirly.

Dervish Z Sanders said...

None of those things ever happened to me. And now it's dmarks (with Will joining in) using the playground insults... a charge he OFTEN falsely levies at me. None of this BS has anything to do with the conversation.

Although it does show that both dmarks and Will were probably bullies while in school... which is in line with their demonstrated desire to be able to look down on as many of their fellow humans as possible. While in grad school it was the "nerds" they pantsed, titty-twisted and gave swirlies to. Today it is workers who make under $10 and are thus "losers".

I suspect both dmarks and Will laughed when they heard about how Mitt Romney (while attending his ivy league prep school) held down the gay kid and cut his hair. This is the kind of abuse of their fellow humans these two jackasses with over-inflated egos would approve of.

You gotta learn to laugh at yourself, wd.

Actually, wd, I have a pretty strong history of befriending people like you. There was this guy in high school (Zukes - Marcus remembers him) who nobody liked but who I took a chance on. I mean, yeah, it wasn't the easiest task at all times but we were friends for about 15 years (I ultimately had to unload him when he became verbally abusive to me, my wife, and several others). And even at work, a lot of the tougher residents who many of the staff don't spend a lot of time with, I make it a point to build up relations with them. So, again, your "suspecting" is wrong.

Dervish Z Sanders said...

"Zukes"??? Sounds like a fake name to me, as does this story about you being friendly and him turning on you for no reason. He (if this person exists) probably got sick of you calling him a loser.

Dervish Z Sanders said...

And what's with this "people like you" nonsense? "Zukes" probably caught you and your friends making fun of him behind his back. No doubt he was pissed off that you strung him along for so long. You probably make "friends" with "people like you" in hopes they'll tell you things you can use against them. A pretty sick way to get your kicks, IMO.
