On Sarah Palin Being a Classless Piece of Excrement

The debate (between me and this small contingent of progressives) isn't about whether Sarah Palin (still not in spell-check, btw) is qualified to be President (she isn't), or whether Sarah Palin has been divisive (she has been), or whether Sarah Palin lacks intellectual curiosity (she does), or whether Sarah Palin is overexposed (she is), or whether Sarah Palin is irritating (she is), or whether Sarah Palin ran a lousy campaign in 2008 (she did), or whether Sarah Palin would be a strong Presidential candidate in 2012 (she wouldn't), or whether Sarah Palin is opportunistic (she is), or whether Sarah Palin constantly plays the victim (she does), etc., Etc., ETC., ETC.. Not at all, folks. It's about the weeds. It's about how low people apparently have to go to feel superior. Sarah Palin's an idiot? Fine (I've been reminded that I myself have said it), she's an idiot. But how many different ways do we have to say it? How many different pejoratives are there, FOR CHRIST?........................................................................................................Look, folks, I'm sure that there are conservative blogs out there that are equally vile toward the President (and, please, if you find them, let me know - I'd be more than happy to eviscerate them). But, as of now, I haven't seen a single one....I will keep looking, though.

It ain't this Redneck socialist you're having the debate with over Palin. I just wish she, and honestly most politicans on the left and right, would just go away.

None of them are really helping matters and in fact I hold the position that next to none of them want solutions to America's problems because that would require compromise, a dirty damn word in this surreal day and age, and the realization that blind ideology creates more problems that it fixes.

Forget Sarah Palin....John Stewart,a friend and former room mate thru Weiner under the bus tonight.

Does anyone wonder why staunch liberals like Jerry Nadler and Upchuck Schumer, people from his own state have'nt come to Weiners defense? And tomorrow the feds are going to drop a house on John Edwards.

WHAT????? As I sit here with my mouth hanging open.. you've never been to Malcontents blog??? Come on Will, you've not seen a single blog where Both Michelle and Barack Obama are called the most vile names and bashed mercilessly?? Wow you don't get out much. Just wait, I'll be back today with some choices for ya!

Sue, I went to Malcontent's blog once and thought that it was bush-league. And you KNOW that Linda (along with Silverfiddle) and I got into it over at her blog. You KNOW that I vociferously defended Mr. Obama. Why didn't you mention that when Mike and Jolly started in with their bald-faced lies against me.......P.S., Linda used far lesser pejoratives against Obama than you guys do against Palin and I STILL vociferously defended Mr. Obama.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Go ahead, give me some bile by this Malcontent (cut and paste away) and watch me dissect it. I welcome the challenge.

Sue said...

Will I stayed out of that argument cuz I really had no time to keep up, but you are right about defending Obama, and I have defended you in the past. But honestly you seem very concerned about the conservative bashing from the left, it bothers you more than it should. I don't know if it means you really do lean right or if you are genuinely a nice guy and just don't like bashing of either side. I never wanted to be known as an extremist but I guess sometimes I do get carried away.

Still haven't had time to look for those quotes but I will!

Well,it looks like Rusty hit the nail right on the head with his prediction on the latest unemployment numbers.Yes it did rise to 9.1%.14 million americans looking for work and Obie will play his 71st round of golf this weekend. No sitting president has ever gotten re-elected with unemployment over 7.2%.
What was that idiotic statement by Biden last summer....we saved or created 3 million jobs.

The topper today was Johnny Edwards getting frog walked with six federal charges on his back.

Sue, on social issues (abortion, gay rights, gun control, civil liberties) and foreign policy (I'll take the Powell doctrine over the Rumsfeld doctrine ANY DAY), I am VERY liberal. I am probably to the left of Obama. On economics, energy, and health-care, however, I'm probably a tweek to the right of Obama (though, yes, he's clearly moving in my direction). My overall voting pattern over the past 35 years has probably been about 60(D)-20(R)-20(I). And when I do vote Republican, it's almost ALWAYS a pro-choice moderate; Lowell Weicker (remember him from Watergate?), Jody Rell, people like that. The only pro-life Republican who I've ever voted for was Bush 1 in '88. Is Huntsman pro-life? Probably yeah, huh? Other than that, I kinda like him (though, yes, I full expect him to flip-flop a la Romney and McCain on virtually every moderate position he's ever had).

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Russ, you're not happy about these bad numbers, are you? I mean, we need this President to do well, correct?............John Edwards? Hey, you know how some guys joke around about "marrying up"? Yeah, well in this case, it's totally accurate. That blankety blank married WAY UP!!!!!

Of course I'm not happy about over 9% of the population being unemployed....more like 17% if you count the folks who have given up looking.I am pissed that this administration is trying to make custard out of mustard....recovery,my ass.

In Clark County NV,almost 80% of all mortgages are upside down and over 30% are in foreclosure. The housing market across the nation is in the crapper...the national debt continues to skyrocket...recovery...my ass.

I was debating wether to dip into this thread or not, but I just can't take much more...

Will, you're BETTER than this. You're also more INTELLIGENT than this.

THIS IS CLASSLESS:
"On Sarah Palin Being a Classless Piece of Excrement"
"The debate (between me and this small contingent of progressives) isn't about whether Sarah Palin (still not in spell-check, btw) is qualified to be President (she isn't)" She ran an entire frigging state, one larger than Texas. She's MUCH more qualified than the community agitating, one year of voting present and then running for president senator that won, and now is continually on expensive vacations or golfing on our dime.(when he's not deliberately flushing our country down the toilet) "or whether Sarah Palin has been divisive (she has been)" While uniting a large portion of the former silent majority. AND did it occur to anyone that people who do not have our countries best interest at heart NEED to be marginalized?, "or whether Sarah Palin lacks intellectual curiosity (she does)", This from someone who simply takes what the liberal media have repeated over and over ad naseum and spent no time of his own doing any research on her... "or whether Sarah Palin is overexposed (she is)", By a media that despises her, and is now tripping all over itself trying to figure out what she'll do or go next. "or whether Sarah Palin is irritating (she is)", Personal opinion stated as fact... "or whether Sarah Palin ran a lousy campaign in 2008 (she did)", Really?, I seem to remember a McCain campaign that before he selected her, was going bankrupt, running in last place, had ONE bored pool reporter, and was playing to huge crowds of tens of people. And AFTERWARDS was playing to stadiums of tens of THOUSANDS of people, had plenty of campaign cash AND media attention, but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. Again don't let facts get in the way. "or whether Sarah Palin would be a strong Presidential candidate in 2012 (she wouldn't)", A little hard to say right now. If things don't improve ANYONE will beat Zero. But if she DOES run and wins what will the excuse be then? "or whether Sarah Palin is opportunistic (she is)", Of course a Democrat or a male Republican would simply be ambitious wouldn't they?, And of course any of us would turn down the opportunity to pay off our debts (especially if those debts came from left wing loonies filing a never ending stream of frivolous law suits causing us to hire expensive lawyers and distract and impede our ability to do our jobs efficiently) and become self sufficient wouldn't we? I mean they wouldn't call us quitters or anything would they? "or whether Sarah Palin constantly plays the victim (she does)", Yeah that's it, she just "plays" the victim. It's not like she's been actually abused by the media, the McCain camp, bloggers, you name it. No, it isn't like she's been accused of just about everything including murder. "etc., Etc., ETC., ETC.." Blah, Blah, Blah "Not at all, folks. It's about the weeds. It's about how low people apparently have to go to feel superior. Sarah Palin's an idiot? Fine (I've been reminded that I myself have said it), she's an idiot." An idiot who's shaping politics in this country in a big way, making a boatload of money in the process and has the media tripping all over themselves trying to follow her...
Yeah, a real idiot that one.

Did you ever stop and wonder why ALL effective Republicans are called idiots?
(when they weren't called evil scheming geniuses plotting some highly involved conspiracy against god, country or humanity....)

Voltron the sky in the strange world you inhabit must be a wonderful color. Ms. Palin can't even get the ride of Paul Revere right much less the "statute of liberty".

As for her running the state of Alaska, you moron she QUIT two years into her first term.

Palin winning the republican nomination is the best thing that could happen to Obama.

I see your public education has fared as it usually does...

I know that if you were borrowing money to pay off expensive lawyers defending you from an endless stream of frivolous law suits that were keeping you from doing your job well, You'd just hang in there and do the job half assed while heading into poverty...

You're so noble that way!

And at least she's trying BB, Obie can't even get his Alinsky, Cloward Piven or Marxism straight without a telepromter.

Nevermind, just keep drinking the koolaid.

I know, I know, disagreeing with a black man's political policy is racist.. blah, blah, blah.

And just how do you compromise with people who are intent on destroying your country? Agree to let them destroy it just a little bit?

Thank you for speaking up, Volt. It's good for these progressives to see that I occasionally take a hit or two from the right side. Look, I don't hate Sarah Palin and it was probably wrong for me to use the word, idiot (I've used that word for other people and I should probably select my words more carefully in general). And I don't hate conservative women. Remember Jeanne Kirkpatrick? Loved Jeanne Kirkpatrick (watch, I'm going to get hammered from the other side for saying THAT!). And I also have a lot of respect for Peggy Noonan. I just don't think that Palin has added anything of substance to the debate (platitudes, mostly). Add to that the divisive rhetoric and, I just don't like her. But I at least gave her a chance. Most of the people who don't like her DIDN'T.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

Just starting to get to me Will.

Nobody knows everything, that's why presidents have advisers.

All you really need are good people surrounding you and good gut instincts, and I believe she does.

Oh and BB? Regarding your snark about the second amendment, they're having a good debate about that at politics usa:

Someone smarter than me on subject is currently kicking some arse over there...

It's amazing to watch, even in the light of having it explained in historical reference with attributions which could be independently read, they still cling to their positions...

Interesting how hard people will fight to protect their belief even when it's plainly shown to them to be wrong.

"some are so enured, so dependent on the system they will fight to preserve it..."

Feel free to chime in any time, Volt. I try to position myself in the middle and, yes, your contributions definitely help!! LOL

Sarah Palin is an unqualified idiot. But back to her daughter Willow.

According to life and Style magazine "Willow took part in a 1am drug deal, and that she chugged vodka when she was just 15. Lance Nezaticky, a former classmate [says] he watched as Willow took part in a drug transaction in a deserted Target parking lot in her hometown of Wasilla around 1am on a December night [in 2009]. [He says] it was definitely her... Willow had been told that the pot was really good stuff...".

Don't Conservative say that this kind of behavior is due to the moral decay of society... caused by Liberals? Does this mean that Sarah Palin's parenting skills are too Liberal?

I wouldn't make too big a deal out of this, but, IMO, it is definitely another example of Conservative hypocrisy. Perhaps Mrs. Plain needs to put more effort into raising her daughter than into scamming gullible tea baggers?

Voltron: And just how do you compromise with people who are intent on destroying your country? Agree to let them destroy it just a little bit?

As a Liberal I agree completely with this statement. Conservatives are trying to destroy our country and MUST be stopped. We cannot accept their idea of compromise.

BTW, NOBODY ever said having political differences with the president makes you racist. Only actually being racist makes you racist. And there are some tea baggers who have without question did and said things to demonstrate that they are.

It IS interesting how hard people will fight to protect their belief even when it's plainly shown to them to be wrong. I'd be interested in finding out why (and how) Voltron does this.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

"There are SOME tea-baggers". I commend you, wd. You didn't tar the entire movement....And it didn't hurt a bit, did it?

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Will, I think you misunderstand the Liberal position regarding racism in the Tea Party. I think they are a minority (although, regarding the exact percentages, I am not sure). The problem, from a Liberal perspective, is the movement's tolerance of the racists in their ranks.

This is the precise point I made on my blog...

Here's an excerpt from my post:
Just to be clear, I am not accusing all Conservatives [or tea partiers] of being racist. I agree with President Jimmy Carter who described the bigots as a "radical fringe element".

But when those on the Right buy into the lie that the Left is calling any disagreement racist, fail to denounce the tea party bigots, and then turn around and call the President racist [like Glenn Beck did]... they are enabling the racists in their party and, in my opinion, no better than the actual racists
.

Voltron's take on the issue is a flat out fabrication. They are trying to make the Left look ridiculous... because OF COURSE just being a member of the Tea Party does not make you racist.

Remember how Ben Jealous got smeared by Mark Williams (with a racist letter) when he made the same point (that the racists are only a fringe element)?

I think it has died down a little since the Williams/Jealous incident though. I don't recall the specifics, but Ben Jealous did say that the Tea Party had taken some steps to tamp it down a little... so bully for them...

but shame on Voltron. It's a lie he likes and one he's sticking with.

dmarks said...

"But when those on the Right buy into the lie that the Left is calling any disagreement racist,"

Actually, the common lie here is the Left calling any disagreement with President OBama racist.
Here is one example. There are so many.
