Retired from films in 1955 (at the age of 29). Not certain as to why. Some people suggest it may have had something to do with her husband (the eccentric money bags, Howard Hughes) no longer wishing to share his prized possession and putting his foot down. Others just believe that she got sick of the Hollywood bullshit and bid adieu to the machine. Whatever it happened to be we all lost out on Ms. Peters and Ms. Monroe duking it out for first prize and, trust me, it would have been off the charts.
