In truth Chuck Wepner actually was a very tough hombre (and the inspiration for "Rocky", I've been told). He just wasn't a very skilled boxer (to say the least) and when you combine that with the fact that he bled like a fire-hose (60 stitches in his face before the age of 30), yeah, Mr. Carpenter's assessment is SPOT ON!
