On People Who a) Whoop it Up for War, b) Advocate for Conscription, c) Argue for a Permanent Peacetime Industrial Army, and d) Support the Suppression of Dissent and "Disloyalty" at Home

I call them demagogues, socioopaths, and fiends but in the early 20th Century they were referred to as "Progressives" (politicians like Wilson and TR, academics like Richard Ely, John Commons, and John Dewey, a major chunk of the women's suffrage movement, editorial writers at publications like "The New Republic" and "The Nation", etc.). How ironic is that (the fact that the left loves to parade itself around as some peace-loving faction - this as President Obama dropped 100,000 bombs on the Middle-East)?.....................................................................................................P.S And, yes, there were in fact some principled Progressives such as Bob Lafollette who opposed WW1......but the fact that over 90% of the faculty at the University of Wisconsin signed a petition denouncing the guy (refer to Gruber, "Mars and Minerva", 1975), my point is made, I think.
