JFK to Bernie Sanders (Kind of) - Part 2
"I am opposed to excessive, unjustified, or unnecessary government intervention in the economy- to needlessly unbalanced budgets and centralized government.......I do not believe that Washington should do for the people what they can do for themselves through local and private effort. There is no magic attached to tax dollars that have been to Washington and back." JFK in an October 12th, 1960 speech on economic policy.......Wow, huh? Talk about a precipitous decline; from Grover Cleveland, Al Smith, and JFK to Sanders. It doesn't get any steeper than that.
