A Painful View/Viewing

I didn't see Governor Palin's interview with Katie Couric, folks. But, yes, just like the rest of the country, I've been seeing snippets of it. And at this point, frankly, all I can utter is, Oh Boy! This, I'm saying, in that, while I generally don't like to go along with the crowd on this stuff, this time I just might have to...............................................The bottom-line, folks, I'm telling you, if Governor Palin doesn't start doing better and doing better soon (like maybe this Thursday in the debate), McCain may not have a choice but to cut his losses and pick somebody else. I mean, I know that there aren't a lot of other good options out there for him and all but, seriously; Tommy Thompson, Mike Huckabee, even frigging Romney, for Christ (though, yes, here you might have to promise McCain a bushel or two of clothes-pins)!.............................................Of course, if he wanted another woman on the ticket, that's where it would get really dicey for him. This, I'm saying, in that, while there are in fact good Republican women out there (Kay Bailey Hutchinson, the Governors of Hawaii and Connecticut, for example), they mostly tend to be pro-choice. And you know how well that tends to fly with the Republican base.............................................Oh well, maybe this will all correct itself and Palin will start to perform well. I'm sure as hell hoping so, folks. For the sake of the country, I'm saying...............................................P.S. Just for the record here, I get absolutely no pleasure in seeing this candidate, or any other candidate, self-destruct. I want ALL the candidates to do well. I mean, don't we want not only the best people to run but the ones that do run to show competence? Oh, wait a minute, I forgot, I'm speaking mostly to partisans here. Never mind.

It's not as simple as you make it sound.
He cannot just pick a new one because the numbers don't look good.
That's not how states run elections.

If McInsane picked a new VP and threw St Sarah under the bus, all the dumb as dirt fundies who ran to support his saggin' campaign after her pick, would go home and STAY home come November. That would result in Mcinsane doing at least as bad as Jimmy Carter in 1980 or Walter Mondale in 1984, even with Geraldine Ferraro .

Because Obama is right where Clinton-Gore were in 1992 right now, even though St Johnny has St Sarah on his losing ticket (and there is no Ross Perot in the mix) .... pull the fundies, and it's Carter-Mondale or McGovern time for McInsane.

It is FAR far too late to switch bimbo's in this campaign cause St Johnny of Hanoi needs another boost in the polls.

I say bimbo because stupid widdle will has focused the pick on gender which means the pick is more concerned with DNA then best possible candidate, just like St Johnny of Hanoi did.

I know you meant to say "right where Scary/Leftwards were in 2004..."

I think that there would be a way to do it, 1138. They could make it sound like she was stepping aside for family reasons. I mean, we would know but it would allow her to save face. I, personally, hope she does well tomorrow night. I don't like seeing anybody humiliated - not even Clif.

Will didn't focus his pick on gender, Clif. I saif IF HE wanted to pick another woman. I didn't say whether he should or not.

You haven't known him as long. He could stand a little humility.

If you hear of him being humiliated call me. I'll bring the popcorn and sodas...

No stupid what I said was,

Because Obama is right where Clinton-Gore were in 1992 right now,

Here are the totals from 1992, and current polls from Real Clear Politics.

Current no toss-up poll on RCP;

Obama/Biden 353 McCain/Palin 185

The 1992 final results;

Clinton/Gore 370 Bush/Quayle 168

Obama is approaching Clinton's historic win,

Just like I said.

Now son, go cry elsewhere.

Good you keep thinking

Then you start investigating election rules and where Sarah the then former Governor of Alaska would be while the GOP race went down in flames as battles erupted in each state. The party hates Johnny, or maybe you didn't notice how the House of Representative kicked him in his 70 year old nuts on the Bailout bill.

I agree that McCain has no good options. Keeping her, however (unless, of course, she improves markedly), is likely to spell certain defeat (which is basically what you guys want, and why you probably want her to stick around). If he picks, say, Fred or Tommy Thompson, he'll keep that base and maybe grab a little of the middle. It's just a thought. I actually don't care what he does - that disgusted I am at the whole process at this point.

Again, Clif, no Nazi imagery. I won't allow that here.
