On the Celtics, 76ers, Knicks, and Lakers (Four of the Most Storied Franchises in the Sport) Currently Being a Combined 28-85

Yeah, that's not a good situation for the league; lower attendance, shittier ratings (compounded by the fact these are big markets), etc..

People don't want equality in the league. They want their team to win. That means the big markets win because that is where the people are.

Equality is for the benefit of the owners, not the fans. It spreads the money between already rich owners. People would rather have a winning team than close games but always on the losing end of them.

Why would anyone want equality? The stronger, better and smarter should win,in sports and life.

You everybody DOESN'T get a trophy, Russ?

Under the current system , all owners get a MONEY trophy.

Second place is the same as last place Will.

Second is the first loser.

Winning isn't the best thing....its the only thing.

Fact is Jerry the owner put up the money to buy the team and take all the risk....he deserves all the money he can get.

This was a nonpolitical post, I had thought. I guess that there's no such with with the left (their preoccupation with oligarchs, etc.).

You guys automatically assume something I did not mean. Each owner deserves all the money they can learn from the team. But that's not the system they have set up now. They share the money and they limit what the richest teams can do.
