On the Fact that Oregon's 1859 Constitution Prohibited Blacks from Coming into the State, Securing Property, Making Contracts, or Filing a Lawsuit

So, the message from a lot of these abolitionists was this essentially; "free your slaves with zero compensation and don't for one split second think of sending them up here."......................................................................................P.S. And since these prohibitions were baked into the Constitution, the legislature was impotent to get rid of them for years....Yeah, I know, more northern enlightenment.
