On the Much Lauded Military Exploits of Che Guevara and the Castro Brothers
Nothing but more propaganda. As historian, Hugh Thomas, has pointed out, the deposing of Batista was largely made possible by an agreement called the Miami Pact in which anti-Batista Cuban politicians and wealthy exiles bought off the military commanders in Batista's army. I mean, if you want to call that heroism, knock yourself out, but a war in which you only lose 20 guys (a modest week in Baltimore of late) over several years isn't exactly the stuff of legends. Sorry............."In all essentials, Castro's battle for Cuba was a PUBLIC RELATIONS (my emphasis) campaign fought in New York and Washington." Thomas in his own words.
