On the Fact that the Top 1% (Comprised Largely of Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers, Architects, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Administrators, etc.) Makes 18.9% of the Total Adjusted Gross Income but Pays 37.4% of the Total Income Taxes
I'm looking at these statistics and and I gotta tell you, I'm just not sensing that these rich folks are screwing the rest of us (especially considering the fact that they probably had to go to college for 6 to 8 years, accrued some massive debt, and spent another decade plus building up a practice). I mean, how much of the total income tax burden SHOULD they be paying? 50%? 80%? Every cent of it? Please, enlighten me here.
