On the Fact that While the Mortality Rates at the Andersonville and Elmira POW Prison Camps Were Roughly the Same (Some Sources Say that Elmira Was Actually Worse), Everybody Knows About Andersonville but Few Know About Elmira
The victors write the history. We should all be aware of that by now....................................................................................P.S. And, yes, one of the main reasons why the death-toll at Andersonville and other southern prisons was so high was because the North had all but obliterated the South's infrastructure (making it all but impossible to resupply the prisons), stolen and/or destroyed its food supply, etc. - factors which made the death-rate of prison guards almost as high as that of the prisoners and which didn't exist up north.
