Prisms/Prisons
I am just getting so tired of these labels, folks; left-right, liberal-conservative, Democrat-Republican - in general. I don't know, maybe George Washington (himself a complex man - slave-owner, Revolutionary War hero) was actually right when he said that political parties would have a ruinous effect on our nation. I mean, just look at the venal state of the political discourse that we, as a people, are enduring....THIS YEAR ALONE (those Internet smear-sites obviously representing the worst of it)!! It's like, how, pray-tell, can anybody, when they've swallowed it all so hook, line, and sinker, ever, EVER, shed such an outer-skin and breathe? They can't, I'm telling you. They just can't do it, period!

Added you to my blogroll, hope you don't mind.
Gave you the LABEL "Moderate left wing - non hate site...LOL
That's cool! Do I have a blog-roll? Actually, the label I prefer is "pragmatist" (short-hand for Rockefeller Republican/Sam Nunn Democrat). And I guess you could call me a contrarian, too, in that, get this, I voted for Perot twice (protest votes, me-bucko)!! Wow, now everybody's gonna hate me, huh?
You might want to rethink the "Rockefeller" republican part.
Those are the "blue blood" types.
Fiscally conservative, but very liberal socially. Think "High Society"...
You did say you admired Buckley, so maybe you meant Goldwater republican?
(of course being from the northeast and all...lol)
Actually, I like Goldwater, too (the libertarian side of me). But, really, wasn't he (by today's standards, anyway) also a liberal in terms of social issues ("you don't have to be straight to shoot straight")? See what I'm saying about these categories? Very tricky. Buckley? Yeah, he was awesome. Didn't always concur, but damned if he wasn't a fascinating fellow.
