Substitution Retribution
As to those of you whose major frustration lies with Fox News and talk-radio, believe me, I FEEL YOUR PAIN IN SPADES! I mean, just that stuff out of Micheal Savage's mouth alone is enough to turn one's belly sour/bad, shiver ye timbers, etc.. But, I don't know, though, folks, I guess that, after having walked into a hornet's nest such as Lydia's, a cautionary-tale may in fact be in order. And, yes, it is, I'm saying, this, me-buckos - when looking to rid yourself of 1) sin or, worse than that, decadence, sometimes it's best to turn the wheel slowly, keep it steady, and THEN accelerate. This, of course, as opposed to pulling a U-ey and shit.

Will, in defense of Lydia, I think you were initially mistaken for a troll who has been stirring up trouble there for some time. I remember a time when the environment was more civil, before her blog came under assault by rude, offensive and disrespectful comments from the extreme right.
There is probably enough blame to go around, huh? Actually, my denigating of her 80s sitcom was what might have really put me on the poop list. "I'd rather stare at a chalk-outline of Sal Mineo for a half-hour." I don't know, I thought it was funny but, yeah, from her perspective, perhaps a tad over the top. Thanks for visiting. tnp
They got me off task. They're helping Bill O'Reilly, for God sakes! LOL
Actually most of the "trolls" (with the exceptions of "Rusty" and perhaps one other that I can't think of right now) WERE pretty civil for a very long time.
But after a while of putting up with the verbal abuse we started talking back to them in the same manner.
The vast majority of "rude, offensive and disrespectful comments" came mostly from the extreme left on her board.
I have never lied although they believe that I have, and at one time we used to engage in enjoyable converstation.
But I HAVE been lied about, threatened and called some of the worst names imaginable on Lydia's board. But if I get pissed and reply in kind I'm the bad guy.
If you don't agree with the positions they get from KOS, DU, Huffpo and Juan Cole they think you're less than human.
They talk about love and peace and getting along, instead they're liars and hypocrites.
They treat you well because you agree with most of their positions.
Will here is a good example. We haven't delved too deeply into politics yet and I'm sure we may even get into some heated debates eventually. But he's treated me civilly so far and I have responded in kind.
Don't forget the deleting, Voltron. They do a lot of that, too. As for heated debates, I think I've only had them on a couple of sites; Lydia's and with some virulent anti-Semite on another blog. I generally try and reach for consensus, instead. For instance, my Biden, Hagel, Lugar, Nunn administration....that would probably end up pleasing nobody. LOL
Since treating other with respect is a requirement at my place, certain people would be deleted there as well.
You and I disagreed, but you were willing to discuss it in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Just for the record, folks, the postings of mine that were deleted at Lydia's site were NOT inappropriate (certainly less vile than what was said about me) and contained NO profanity. They were deleted simply because I exposed elements of their hypocrisy (homophobia, the fact that they say they don't delete but do, their penchance for personal attacks, etc.) for which they had no plausible rebuttal. So much for free speech, I guess, with those sons of guns.
