Some Additional "Stupidity", I'm Gathering

"Warming and increased CO2 will be good for mankind. CO2 is not a pollutant and it is not a poison and we should not corrupt the English language by depriving 'pollutant' and 'poison' of their original meaning." William Happer, physicist, Princeton............."In terms of global warming's capacity to cause the human species harm, I don't think it makes it into the top ten. For most of the earth's history, the globe has been warmer than it has been for the last 200 years. It has rarely been cooler. Gore claims that temperature increases solely because more CO2 in the atmosphere traps the sun's heat. That's just wrong. It's a natural interplay. As temperature rises, CO2 rises and vice versa. It's hard for us to say that CO2 drives temperature. It's easier to say that temperature drives CO2." Robert Giegengack, geologist, University of Pennsylvania............."The idea that global warming is the most important problem facing the world is total nonsense and it is doing a lot of harm. It distracts people's attention from much more serious problems (malaria, plastics in the ocean, etc.).......When I listen to the public debates about climate-change, I am impressed by the enormous gaps in our knowledge, the sparseness of our observations, and the superficiality of our theories.......Just because you see pictures of glaciers falling into the ocean doesn't mean anything. This is something that happens all the time. It's a part of the natural cycle of things." Freeman Dyson, physicist, formerly of Princeton............."In the American Physical Society it is OK to discuss whether the mass of the proton changes over time and how a multi-universe behaves, but the evidence of global warming is incontrovertible? The claim is that the temperature has changed from 288.0 to 288.8 degrees Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in the warm period.......Is climate-change pseudoscience? If I'm going to answer the question, the answer is: absolutely." Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winning physicist, Renssalaer Polytechnical Institute and the University of Oslo.

If there were any sort of consensus, this post would have been empty.

Robert Austin, one of Happer's colleagues in the physics department at Princeton, and Judith Curry (I've quoted her in a different post) from Georgia Tech are 2 additional luminaries who've seemingly sided with the skeptics.
