Note to Lincoln Chaffee

Yes Governor, too much concentrated CO2 can totally cause death. But so, too, the same can be said for oxygen (oxygen toxicity) and nitrogen (nitrogen asphyxiation). HELLO! I mean, I know that you politicians aren't necessarily the smartest folks out there and that it's exceedingly hard to get you to look beyond whatever it is that shiny object happens to be at the moment but I'm afraid that I'm going to have to give you a double duh on this one, bra. CO2 as a pollutant. LOL!

And this is part of the case that the focus on a hyperbundant, ubiqitous element (carbon) has shifted focus away from actual harmful pollutants.

The result of this has been major "oops" such as the situation where an additive required for so-called "green" alternative fuels... an instance where "global warming" carbon paranoia has increased actual pollution.

It also accelerates rain forest depletion and environmental destruction in the Third World, because artificial limits and price hikes and extra taxes on more sustainable, less damaging fossil fuels force people to burn down any available tree for charcoal. Charcoal costs a fraction of fossil fuel.

The human body works diligently to maintain homeostasis. I wonder if the good, albeit duh senator understands the meaning of homeostasis. Hint for him, the human body is quite efficient at maintaining homeostasis. Just as it is at adapting, as in evolution.

CO2 is quite unreactive chemically and humans can tolerate very high levels
. Perhaps he, like some, confused it with CO, which is actually toxic in fairly low levels, replacing oxygen in the hemoglobin.
Not sure how he used it in what context?

He was referring to people dying from car asphyxiation, I think.

Will, by the way, appropriate to energy discussions. I found this photo when looking up unrepentant Maoist extremist Van Jones:

That windmill behind him sure does inspire confidence, doesn't it?

This is while I looked up the figures from various sources to find out that Van Jones was likely paid $60,000 for six months work as a jobs czar. During this period, unemployment increased 14%, with more than a million losing their jobs.

What a public servant!

He was probably one of the clowns who was pushing Obama to emulate Spain, too.

Will.....come on man....you've been a fan of Chaffee's for years.

I seem to remember you extolling Chaffee's moderation.

Old Linc has been a POS for quite a while.

Let's just say that I've soured a tad.

Or perhaps Jones saw the goal of a jobs czar to eliminate jobs, just as a poverty czar tries to eliminate poverty. He sure acted like it.
