On Obama and Holder Wanting America to Have a "Conversation on Race"

They don't want a conversation on race. They want a tutorial on race with them as the professors and us as the pimply faced freshman. And it isn't just with those two folks, either. Over at Les's site, I brought up the high out-of-wedlock birth-rate in the black community and underscored it as a possible reason for the significantly higher poverty rate in that community and I was immediately attacked by a couple of slantheads (Octoschmuck and Flying Douche-Bag, let's call 'em) and it was strongly inferred that I was a racist. A conversation, A CONVERSATION? Yeah, right.

One one of the "conversants" is a bigot who spoke of protecting the interests of his race over others.... while Attorney General no less... rest assured that this "conversation" will be one of supremacy and racism. At least when it comes from Eric Holder.

Well Will, I guess the asshat language you chose to describe two intelligent individuals like yourself is intended to do what exactly?

As for me, well I think the discussion of race is meant to talk about how it is Black people in America just might, with some justification I might add, have formulated a different perspective on race and race relations.

Yeah there are two sides to every story, both well documented. But until those with their eyes sealed to one side decide to move beyond BS then nothing will change.

Frankly, I don't think the right wants change. I no longer believe they are open to honest discussion their frigging long held paradigms have them bound so goddamned tight it is hopeless.

Sorry Will, but this post commentary is bullshit IMO. Be part od the solution or be part of the problem. Choice is certainly yours.

As for me, the choice is easy, it always has been. I just gave up on conservatives being either rational or reasonable. See ya later...

The black poverty rate went down 44% (from 87% to 47%) from 1940 to 1960, well before the civil rights movement (which was of course a just movement - before anybody slams me) and before the Great Society. This whole notion that the government has to rescue black people is itself racist and I side with Frederick Douglas here.

And these 2 intelligent people called me a shill and a racist. I kinda think that I'm entitled to fight back (just as you do with Rusty and Free Thinkie) here.

Or several different perspectives, just as with members of other races.

Implication understood. Interesting, context required.

Say, what's the take on the 61 year old grandmother the police tasered in Tallahassee for dubious reasons?

Just curious.

RN: What's there to say? Other than the cop should have been put on unpaid leave.

Les Carpenter said...

Bingo. From what I hear and see it looks like Tallahassee learned from the Ferguson.

dmarks said...

RN, is the truth even known about the Ferguson incident? Or is it all just rumors.

Les Carpenter said...

The truth is known by someone or perhaps a group of someones.

The truth is Les...if you continue to wear those clothes made from chemicals you're going to get sick....it may be what's causing your hair loss....
