The Fact that Wall Street Bankers Put Flowers on His Grave Every Year on His Birthday

What would be my answer to the question, "So, what's the only thing that you really need to know about Alexander Hamilton?"

Didn't know that. Also in Trinity Church cemetery is John Jacob Astor and many of his well-heeled
progeny. Does one put Asters on
the Astor graves?

That he was an early statist?

I prefer Ashtons thank you very much.

Yep. And he also advocated a permanent Presidency, a wide interpretation of the term, "general welfare" (not to mention, the commerce clause), bounties to manufacturers, and a massive increase in the money supply (inflation averaged 12-14% a year from 1791 to 1796). To say that the fellow was the Lincoln, Hoover, FDR, LBJ, Bush 2, and Obama of his time is probably about right (that, and his First Bank of the United States was an early forerunner of the FED).
