Harry Truman on Keynesian Economics

"Nobody can ever convince me that government can spend a dollar that it hasn't got."............As if we really needed another reason to like this guy.

The government always spends money it has. It just borrows it first, hence the debt...like most Americans.

Let he who is without debt cast the first stone.

I much prefer the Truman and, yes, I'll say it, Clinton, approach of pay as you do.

Hell,I was hoping either WD or 37 was here....seeing that they view themselves as brilliant minds I wanted some advice on two things.

First....Would WD take 3-1 on Pacquiao over Marquez tonight or lay it off?

Secondly....What would they take on Stanford/Oregon tonight, the over or the under?

If either one is available...please respond.

I'm not either of those 2 fellows, Russ. But I would definitely take Pacquiao. Marquez is 38 now and is, at best, a shell of what he used to be. That, and Manny has gotten significantly better since their previous meetings. I fully expect Pacquiao to make him look like a statue.............As for Stanford-Oregon, I say Stanford wins, 41-30.

Personally rusty I wouldn't give you betting advice if will's life depended on it,

I don't do it nor care to start wasting my time with it.

But 37...you're free with advice on everything else...I guess I mistakenly thought someone with a gigantic brain like you profess to have would find it quite easy to set odds or pick a winner in a game. Guess i was wrong.

He will take the "over" on global warming and Bush being a war criminal, I'd bet.

Continuously with most of your propaganda posts rusty.

Its a slow night 37....how about you treat us to another 5,000 word posting about a mid-east oil pipeline, or perhaps you can come up with something even more boring.

Definition of hell on earth:

Being trapped in a middle coach seat between 37 and WD for a five hour flight.

Another definition of hell on earth:

Being seated between 37 and WD at a dinner table at Commanders Palace.....what a waste of a sparkling good meal.

Yet one more definition of hell on earth:

Being seated in a four person box at Churchill Downs on the second Saturday in May.Pass the pistol please.

O.K.,one last definition of hell on earth:

Being related to either 37 or WD and having to endure Thanksgiving dinner with them.....to paraphrase Winston...."if you were my relative I'd poison you....if I were your relative I'd gladly take it."

Good ole plain talking Harry. A guy with a ABUNDANCE of common sense.

A rare commodity these days...

Yet one more definition of hell on earth:

Waking up, looking in the mirror, and seeing rusty staring back at you.

The hell is knowing there is no way to get away from the fool.

Les, Truman got the message that Al Smith got, that JFK got, and that FDR DIDN'T get; namely, that it isn't the business of the United States government to wage war on American business. It's such an incredibly simple message and, yet....

Note to 37927. Your joke would have been significantly funnier if it had been based on an original premise.
