He Makes Bush Seem Like Truman Capote

Rick Perry has been running for President for about a week now. And so far the dude has a) "almost" accused Ben Bernanke of treason, b) taken a massive beemer on President Obama, and c) basically said that the science behind evolution was BS. I'm sorry, folks, but methinks that this fellow isn't quite ready for prime viewing yet - not even remotely so.

The title made me laugh, plus Truman is spinning his grave over that comparison.

So Will, what did he say that was untrue?

I suspect, Double b, that Truman wouldn't be happy.............Volt, one could absolutely debate the policy decisions of Mr.s Bernanke and Obama, but when the Governor threw in that treasonous line to punctuate it, that went way over the line, IMO.

Hell, Everybody at the Fed ought to be dancing on the end of a rope. Have you taken a look at the economy lately?

Voltron, are you unaware that Rick Perry is a nut?

Are you ready for when Zero's EPA policies shut down one fifth of the coal fired power plants?
They only provide about 45% of our power, no problem right?

John,

Evidently.

What's he said or done that's nutty?

IrOnY RaGeD said...

Don't worry though, I have no plans to vote for him, unless he wins the primary.
I'm still holding out for either Palin or Bachmann.

Voltron,

I was going to go find a bunch of quotes from the Revival he held during the Republican Primaries and then find some of his justifications for executing those he admits have been proved innocent and then find some of his secession quotes and then see if can find his "outlaw homosexuality" quotes, but it sounds like a lot of work and I actually have little passion around slamming Mr. Perry. He is, after all, my governor.

So, instead of my laborious original intention, I will just give you a comical quote instead.

"Texas is a national example of how to best prepare our children for higher education and the workplace."

We ain't number 43 out of 50 for nothing.

OK, I cannot resist this one:

"I am a firm believer in intelligent design as a matter of faith and intellect, and I believe it should be presented in schools alongside the theories of evolution."

-- My Governor, Rick Perry.

It doesn't sound like he believes much of science, either; creationism being on a par with evolution, the fact that when he was asked how old the earth was, he responded, "I don't know", etc..

John Myste said...

Voltron,

OK, one more:

"“That’s the question: Who do you worship? Do you believe in the primacy of unrestrained federal government? Or do you worship the God of the universe, placing our trust in him?”

-- My Governor, Rick Perry

We were thinking the same thing at the same time, John. do do do do do do do do (that's my version of the "Twilight Zone", btw).

This disingenuous bible thumping nimrod will never be ready for prime time. Not ever.

How in the hell republicans don't even bother to check this guy's liberal spending record (using the feds money) and see he is hypocrite is beyond me.

I've voted conservative for the the past 30 or so years. This guy is not a conservative, will do more damage than Bush did, and IMO ought to fall off the political stage damn fast.

Rational,

I refuse to tell you I agree with you on anything. I absolutely refuse.

Will, I agree with Rational.

To quote Jim Hightower;

“He really is kind of a George Bush plutocrat without the intelligence or the ethics."

Just what we need, another Texas far right evangelical faux cowboy, selling out to the biggest lobbyists and their corporate masters over the middle class.

It might be a first one, instead of another. Bush wasn't far right (as the far right just like the far left is entirely shut out of mainstream politics). And Bush's ranch was real, which makes him as close to a real cowboy as anything.

Could someone please tell me who exactly are these "corporate masters" zip code speaks of? Do these guys live in a castle wearing wizards costumes? Or perhaps they ride round their plantation on a horse while wearing a white suit.
"Corporate masters," just who are these folks?

They probably do, the eccentric weirdos. They happen to be known only for supporting candidates, though.

I used to know where a site is that shows which candidates got public corporate support and how much. It was interesting because both democrats and republicans were highly represented there.

If anyone knows what I am talking about share the link. Otherwise, I cannot, because at this point, I don't know what I am talking about. I just remember once knowing.

Never thought I'd ever say this, but I agree with RN, totally.
