Note to John Boehner

Dude, I agree with you. It ISN'T your job to tell the American people/your colleagues what to think. But it IS your job to show some leadership. It IS your job to show some principle. And it IS your job to show at least a modicum of human decency. You KNOW that the President of the United States is unquestionably a U.S. citizen.....and that he ISN'T a Muslim (not that that should even matter, btw), and still you allow this stuff to linger. Why don't you just be a man and try to do some heavy lifting here (i.e., the persuading people to your point of view via reasoning and NOT via this whole hanging the President out to dry)? I mean, don't you think that the American people would respect you more for that than this frigging Kabuki dance that you and Cantor have been doing? I personally think that they would.

Yeah, it's like they want their cake and eat it, too. "Yes, he's a citizen but, no, I'm not going to try and dissuade the others, yada yada." It's bullcrap!

You know Will,

Obama could've avoided all this by simply showing his actual hospital birth certificate in the first place.
It would have ended all the doubts right then and there.

Instead all we got was a certificate of live birth in Hawaii and a Conn. social security no.

You know Volt,

That he released his OFFICIAL STATE OF HAWAII BIRTH CERTIFICATE. You know the document that the STATE OF HAWAII issues to certify a live birth in THE STATE OF HAWAII. Hawaii, the last time I checked, is and was a member of the United States of America. Their official state issued documentation should be recognized under the 14th amendment equal protections clause and the "birthers" point is moot. There is no such thing as a "birth certificate" in some states, in others there are. If a state in the United States says it is a valid document then all the states must recognize it.

Well Maestro,

The governor of Hawaii was going to release his birth records to end the controversy.

Now he can't find them.

And what's with the Conn. social security number?

AND even the cert. of live birth he did show had portions redacted.

What is it Obama doesn't want us to find out?

From the Associated Press. "State Department of Health Declares Obama Birth Certificate Legal."
Honolulu Star-Bulletin. 31 October 2008.

State officials say there's no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

"I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen."

Fukino says that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama's certificate be handled differently from any other.

She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest in it.

So you don't want to believe the State of Hawaii, which in turn means you don't believe the United States of America.
Social Security numbers are issued based on the return address of the application not the area of birth.

EVERYBODY who has seen the certificate vouches for it's validity including the UNITED STATES of AMERICA but we'll rely on reports from people who have never touched it or actually seen it. Facts are a bitch, especially when they get in the way of a wild assumption. I hear Orly Taitz is looking for new intern, maybe you can go waste some time with her.

Boehner was absolutly correct in his response to David Gregory.NBC and MSNBC in the forms of Gregory and Chris Matthews are the only news organizations pushing this idiotic issue.Boehner's only shortfall was not telling Gregory to write the question on a piece of paper, ball it up and stuff it up his ass.

Russ, I agree with you - TO A POINT. Yes, there was a time when this issue was superfluous. Yes, there was a time when Matthews inc. overblew it. But, now, we have 12-13 U.S. Congressman who consider themselves "birthers' and numerous stated trying to pass some idiotic birth certificate legislation. It kind of does deserve SOME coverage, I think.

I disagree with both Rusty and Will. maestro196 has got it absolutely correct.
