This sounds extremely similar to the Breonna Taylor case and yet everyone knows the name, Breonna Taylor, and not a damned person outside of rural South Carolina has ever heard of ole Aaron Awtry. Granted, Awtry didn't die from this raid but he definitely could have and the fact that he was given a five-year sentence for shooting the cop is at the bare-minimum newsworthy. If only it had fit the narrative, I guess.
