Probably because he hasn't signed on to the next 8, 10 wars that these people seemingly want to fight. Just a wild guess.

I'd say you're probably right.

Rand has some warts just like they all do but I'd say that he's probably one of the better ones on that side of the aisle (good on civil liberties, sane on foreign policy, etc.).

Rand Paul is the only prospective GOP candidate that I wold consider voting for in 2016.

I always kind of liked Mitch Daniels but being that he probably isn't going to run, I agree, Rand Paul is greatly preferable to the rest of that pack.

As he supports cutting wasteful Federal spending, and also is holding the line against further overtaxing the American public, he seems (relatively) fiscally responsible, also.

I'm sorry dmarks, but they all talk about controlling federal spending....name five who actually walk the walk.

I can think of one; Tome Coburn, and he's going to be leaving this fall.......Sane man. Too sane for Washington.

Good point. Remembering how Paul Ryan was called a social Darwinist and cruel budget slasher... and he favors big increases in social spending and the debt (just less than the Dem's increases is all)
