What would be my answer to the question, "So, what would you say if your kid told you that he wanted to play football at Alabama under Lou Saban, or at USC under Lane Kiffin?"
I'll tell you Will,if I had a son who was good enough to possibly make it to the NFL I could do a lot worse then have him coached by Sabin or go to USC with their pro-style offense.Matt Barkely thought enough of USC to go back for his senior year. I am no way a fan of Lane Kiffin,in fact I think he's a bit of a puke....but he's going to have one hell of a team this year.
Russ, the vast percentage of kids who play college ball never make it to the NFL. I would much rather have my kid go to Virginia and play under Mike London, or to Northwestern and play under Pat Fitzgerald. That way they'd get a great education and still be able to pursue their dream of football glory.
Your point is well taken Will, but there are'nt many Andrew Lucks out there who can get an architecture degree from Stanford in three years and also be the number one pick in the draft.
The kids that have the dreams and talent to play on Sunday usually dont have the grades to go to say Northwestern,Virginia,Stanford,Duke or Vandy.
I still think that there are some better options, Russ. Tom O'Brien at N.C. State, Brent Bielema at Wisconsin, Paul Pasqualoni up here at UConn, Gary Patterson at T.C.U.. Anybody basically but those two degenerates.

Your son is named Will Jr.?
I would never burden a child with the name, Willis.
Why not?
What you talkin' 'bout, Jerry?
Let's just say that it wasn't an easy name growing up with. Thankfully, there was another kid in my grammar school named Roswell Hallenback.
