is funny that all those anti government welfare republicans in Iowa demand welfare for farmers.
From what i understand about ethanol though is that the subsidies go to big oil companies and not farmers. I guess this puts more demand on corn raising the price so it's an indirect subsidy, welfare if you will, for farmers. Plus welfare for big oil companies. What republican wouldn't want that?
And I've heard that ethanol is even worse for the environment than gas is.......That and, to be fair, Harkin and Grassley have BOTH been pimping for this here boondoggle.
