A Blot on an Otherwise Exemplary University

What would be my answer to the question, "So, what do you think about Congresswoman Bachmann actually holding a degree from William and Mary?"

Sure it is not an honorary one? Or, she could be like McCain and Bush, and graduate near the bottom of her class. After all, some one has to bring up the rear.

What about Stanford University and Lincoln College? Is it a blight on their records that the first awarded Rachel Maddow a public policy degree and the other a Rhodes Scholarship and Doctor of Philosophy in politics?

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

I'm not sure, Jerry. I'll have to check it out.......There are a lot of graduates from a lot of places that I don't like, wd. I probably wouldn't single out Ms. Maddow - if, for nothing else, her lack of a major influence.

I wonder what her degree in tax law would tell her about this election result?

Democrat Kathy Hochul Wins Upset In NY-26, Medicare Vote Key To Victory

PS: Bachmann's "law degree " is from Oral Roberts University law school, which when shut down was transfered to regents university the place where Monica Goodling, learned to discriminate against people based on HER supposed Christian principles.

Wow,Sgt.York, the old supply officer shows up.

Does that election mean the dems now control the house?

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

She has an LL M degree in tax law from William and Mary. She got this after her JD from Oral Roberts.

I see rusty still LIES alot, that hasn't changed

clif said...

PS; I see rusty has NADA to say about a supposedly "safe" republican district going blue.

BTW Happy Birthday to Bob Dylan who turned 70 today.

BTW rusty calling somebody who served Sgt York, isn't exactly an insult;

Alvin Cullum York (December 13, 1887 – September 2, 1964) was one of the most decorated American soldiers in World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking 32 machine guns, killing 28 German soldiers and capturing 132 others.

I never earned the MOH, nor did I ever come close to his patriotic example of heroism, but nice of you to dishonestly claim I am him.

It's like a high school reunion. LOL

Will,your old buddy showed up.

I wonder if he ever got a job or is still sucking off the public teat. He's got a vested intrest in the dems having some power,my goodness if conservatives took over everything he may have to actually go to work.

Bachmann also worked as an IRS attorney, her and her husband worked for Carters 1976 campaign. The Bachmann's have five children and also raised over 20 foster children. If she were a liberal they would be pinning medals on her.

William and Mary?

This is lightyears off the point but screw it, we were seeing Colonial Williamsburg one vacation and our hotel was very close to the campus and various frat houses. My old redneck ass fell in with bunch of college kids having a party. I ended up drinking tequila shots out of some chick's belly button, my kids were on a slip and slide in the middle of the yard, and my wife got so toasted she took off her shirt and bra in public.

And to think when I heard where we were going a few months before I was pissed because it wasn't going to be a Florida beach.

Dervish Sanders said...

Will: if, for nothing else, her lack of a major influence.

I heard RM was going to run against Scott Brown the next time out. Soon she may be a Senator. I'd vote for her if I lived in MA.

Also, I have something to say about a supposedly safe Republican district going blue...

RM's diabolical plan worked perfectly! She (according to Will) purposefully neglected to mention that a TP candidate was running as a spoiler when she first reported the story...

Obviously the plan was to trick people into thinking this election was a referendum on the Ryan plan to dismantle Medicare. RM's misrepresentation of this race (somehow) resulted in a Democratic win. In your face "lack of a major influence".

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Great story, double b. I wonder if we got this Bachmann chick hammered......

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Russ, her work with foster children is something that should be commended by ALL, regardless of political affiliation.............So, wd, why do you think that Maddow neglected this fact - it simply didn't cross her mind? Yeah, right. These partisan programs know exactly what they're doing. Also, I'm totally good with the Democrat winning. At least from what I can gather, she's a rock-solid blue-dog.

Dervish Sanders said...

Will: Russ, her work with foster children is something that should be commended by ALL.

I guess... although it's a shame that those kids are probably being brainwashed with right-wing propaganda. Will they be forced to watch the Mike Hucksterbee videos which re-write history to paint Reagan as "fighting Communism in Hollywood"?

These partisan programs know exactly what they're doing.

Which is what? You STILL haven't explained for what purpose she "neglected this fact". I did not see the broadcast in question, so I do not know if it went down as you describe.

Damn....MSNBC suspended Ed Shultz for a week without pay for calling Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut" not on his TV show but on his radio show.

An MSNBC spokesperson also said they are removing a tire swing along with the straw on the floor of Ed's office (cage)but will continue to put crushed valium in his food.

Rusty Shackelford said...

Damn....it looks like John (Breck Girl) Edwards may be facing some real jail time.

Double damn...I kind of wished he was elected, what a friggin story that would be.

Dervish Sanders said...

Damn... a new book by an ex-Palin staffer confirms what we all already knew was true!

The failed VP candidate and half-term quitter "was ready to quit as governor months before she actually resigned and was eager to leave office when more lucrative opportunities came around".

Sarah Palin: screw the people of Alaska and the commitment I made to them... this is all about ME and making as much money as I can off the exposure I gained running as a dangerously unqualifed candidate for VP of the USA.

Dervish Sanders said...

Damn... the United States is beat out by Chile, Mexico and Turkey for the top spot! According to the OECD, income inequality is the greater in those three countries. I'm sure the Republicans were disappointed that the USA only made it to 4th place.

When asked for comment, Paul Ryan remarked that this is another reason why we need to adopt his budget. "The USA can and should be number one!", Ryan said.

Other Republican suggestions for propelling the US into the number one position included Rand Paul and the abolition of the minimum wage, and a national right to work law introduced by Jim DeMint.

Republican Speaker John Boner blamed President Obama for the US's failure to take top honors, remarking, "You can thank the Republicans for lying about pursuing a jobs agenda for our coming in 4th. If we had actually done something about jobs like we promised we may have come in 5th place".

Dervish Sanders said...

Damn... It looks like disgraced Senator John (Put Your Pants on and Go Home) Ensign may face criminal charges! The Senate Ethics Committee probe found "substantial credible evidence" of lawbreaking in Ensign's efforts to conceal his affair with the wife of one of his aides.

The case is being referred to the justice department for likely criminal prosecution. I wonder how much jail time Ensign will get?

Double damn! His elderly parents may also be in hot water! So much for the pride that comes with having a son who is elected to the US Senate.

Rusty Shackelford said...

Do I perhaps detect some sour grapes from you WD?

Your's is a typical liberal response...whenever confronted by bad behavior....point to other bad behavior.

Just suppose George Bush had done the following...Wrote the year 2008 while signing the guest book at Westminister Abbey, screwed up a toast to the Queen, filled up his seven vehicles at a BP station and visited his "relatives" in Ireland....while a good portion of the Mid-West was being leveled.

Dervish Sanders said...

Rusty, the only point of your two previous comments was to bash Liberals, even though the remarks had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.

You do it constantly, but I'M in the wrong for getting annoyed? If you wanted to discuss those topics... why not start YOUR OWN BLOG?

I believe you're the one from whom we all detect sour grapes. GWB was a genuinely crappy president, which is why you have to go to maximum spin to make it appear that Barack Obama is crappy too. A pathetic, although typical, rightie response, IMO.

FYI, I wasn't deflecting -- Ed Schultz was right to label Ingraham a right-wing slut. Most of of those on the professional Right are whoring for the wealthy and corporations.

He should not have used the term however, as it has a very negative connotation. I'm not jiggy with calling women sluts, even if not meant literally (which Mr. Schultz certainly did not mean -- although the dishonest Ingraham was quick to label him a misogynist).

Mr. Schultz (in his passion for defending the middle class and working people) slipped up. He did the honorable thing and volunteered for a week-without-pay suspension.

As far as John Edwards goes, I'm not going to defend him. Although I believe how Newt treated his ex-wives was worse... and he still gets to mount a semi-serious presidential campaign (at least some Republicans thought it was serious until he spoke against the Paul Ryan plan to kill Medicare).

Dervish Sanders said...

FYI... The Tea Party dupes are tools for the Reich-wing which is serving up Fascism by the ladle.

This is very strange. I checked Rusty's blogger profile quit awhile ago, and it said he had no blogs. Then "Leopold Stotch" commented here a few days ago (in another thread).

I went to Leopold's blog and posted a comment. Today that blog (LeopoldsHouse) now belongs to Rusty, as well as another one called "Mr.Mackey speaks".

Even stranger, the one and only post on "Mr.Mackey Speaks" is dated 4/13/2006, and the one and only post on "LeopoldsHouse" is dated 2/12/2008. What kind of funny business are you up to Rusty?

I think he created multiple blogger accounts in order to SPAM liberal blogs... with his inane comments about Ed Shultz being a ape and Barack Obama being a dummy...

The question is, why do they both now have the ID "Rusty Shackelford" attached to them? Did blogger find him out and delete his two other accounts?

At the very least we know he's stealing character names from "South Park" and "King of the Hill" ("Rusty Shackelford" is an alias used by the character Dale Gribble from "King of the Hill").

I wonder... should Rusty be worried about receiving a cease and desist order from the copyright holders of these character names?

Dervish Sanders said...

In any case I think Rusty's been outed. I say he's a fraud.

Rusty Shackelford said...

WD,have you stopped taking your meds again?

Rusty Shackelford said...

WD,you should really go post at one of the liberal echo chambers.
Its amazing how thinned skin you are when someone says something negative about Obie or one of your MSNBC heros. The fact is Ed Shultz is a low life. You do know he admitted to and was issued a restraining order for beating his first wife. That WD is'nt an opinion...its a fact.
Will was correct labeling you a partisan hack....its absolutly what you are.

Rusty Shackelford said...

This may shock my liberal friends here, but when Obama does something I agree with I'm going to give credit where credit is due.
Today at the urging of President Obama both the house and senate passed an extension to the Patriot Act.
Still being on his most recent jaunt Obama plans to sign the bill via auto-pen.Why to go Mr.President, this is the boldest thing you've done since popping Osama.

Dervish Sanders said...

I am strongly opposed to the Patriot Act. Renewing it is something I'm going to sharply criticize President Obama for. But you probably knew that Rusty, which is why you've made this joke comment giving credit where credit is due. I'm not shocked at all.

I don't know anything about Ed Schultz's personal life. I only watch him occasionally. If he actually is a misogynist then I condemn him for that. But I am very skeptical of Rusty's allegations of wife beating.

If you recall Ed Schultz was under serious consideration for endorsement by North Dakota Democrats -- and was officially asked by them if he would run for the ND senate seat. Now, I realize the McCain campaign did no vetting what-so-ever in regards to Sarah Palin, but I have a hard time believing ND Democrats would have asked ES to run if Rusty's allegations were true.

Will labeled me a partisan hack? Not here on his blog, unless I missed it. Maybe you're referring to an email he sent you? Perhaps, but I think you're lying... like you lied in your last comment.

Fat Ed's wife was 5'4",115lbs when he beat her up.

One of your hero's WD...speaks well of you.

Dervish Sanders said...

Rusty, you are a liar. Anyone who reads my comments can plainly see that I never said Ed Schultz was one of my heroes. I said I know nothing about his personal life and that I only watch his program occasionally.

The information you provided is all over the web. I already looked, and didn't find it from any source I'd call authoritative. I'd say these are probably exaggerated (and largely untrue rumors).

I think the question readers of this blog should be asking is why you're going on and on about ES being my "hero" when I said nothing of the sort.

I think you're trying to rile me up and cause everyone to forget about the funny business you're pulling with all these blogs you suddenly have.

I must have nailed it (or come pretty close) when I guessed that you're using sock puppets to spam Liberal blogs. This is why you're so desperate to deflect attention away from that topic... you realize how pathetic it makes you look.

WD add rustyridesagain and returnofrusty at Voltron's blog

Two sockpuppets referencing the same person on the same blog?

Me thinks more then one person has used the "rusty" moniker at Voltron's.

Voltron some guy calling himself "freedum fan" and rusty have blog trolled the progressive blogisphere for years.

rusty is usually the guy who just attacks people instead of responding to the actual facts, and he is quite slimey about it, but willy never calls him on it.

For some reason extreme partisans like Voltron and rusty get a free pass from will, who uses lots of right wing talking points attacking progressive bloggers and politicians, but never handles right wingers in the same way.

Such is how things have been for years in will's supposedly non-partisan view.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys. I was having some major blogger problems. Good to see that you were able to play so nicely and not annihilate each other.............Welcome back, Cilf. I'd have preferred that hadn't eviscerated me so right off the bat like that. But what is it that they say about a leopard? Also, is my ridiculing of Mrs. Bachmann another of these "right-wing" talking points. As usual, you selectively perceive things.

dmarks said...

Clif said: "...who uses lots of right wing talking points..."

Typically, someone who brings up "talking points" in their discussions does so without any consideration as to whether anyone has actually used them as "Talking points", and in an attempt to avoid discussing the actual issues.

Why not discuss the issues instead?

"As usual, you selectively perceive things."

Will, it seems that this guy is taking a non-intellectual approach. After all, he is bringing talking points into the discussion, not Rusty.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

He means well, dmarks, but, to him, anybody to the right of Nancy Pelosi is basically a right-winger.

I think the issues we were discussing were that Rusty was a far right wing fringe troll spamming liberal blogs and attacking liberal bloggers to derail real issues and silence bloggers he doesnt agree with...........he has used multiple sock puppet alias's and has done this for close to a decade now.

Mike said...

The REAL issue though is that a hard core safe right wing district (NY's 26th) voted liberal because they CHOSE to keep Medicare and Social Security rather than give tax cuts to billionaires and dismantle unions and and cut public sector salaries and benefits.

That district voted 80% republican in 2010 and they now elected a a democrat........and thats the canary in the coal mine for 2012.
