On the Fact that Feminist Talking-Head, Susan Estrich, Once Accused Former L.A. Times Editorial Chief, Michael Kinsley, of Sexism for Not Having Enough Female Writers On Staff
Yeah, it was a nice try but what Estrich failed to point out is that women as a general rule do not show much of an interest in the field of editorial writing (87% of Wikipedia entries are made by men, for example - source, Heather MacDonald) and so, no, the odds of achieving anything even remotely approaching parity are bubkas. I mean, I know that we live in a fact-free universe these days but to constantly look for sinister shit for every single disparity in society is not just boring and stupid but dangerous as well (the fact that everybody suffers when bean-counting takes precedence over merit) and it needs to come to a screaming halt. It really does.
