On the Fact that at the Same Time that the Truman Administration (the Major Participants Here Being Marshall, Acheson, and Jessup) Was Providing Assistance to the Anti-Communist Forces In Greece, They Were Doing the Absolute Opposite In China by Not Only Hanging Chiang Kai-shek Out to Dry On the Mainland but by Facilitating His Ouster Once He and His Troops Retreated to Formosa

The Communist elements in the Truman State Department had long had Chiang (not an angel by any stretch but certainly better than Mao) in their crosshairs and they did literally everything in their power (including calling for a cease-fire when the Commies were clearly losing and labeling Chiang's situation a "lost cause" when by most measures it wasn't) to destroy him. Fortunately for the fellow he had a few more lives left and when Formosa became Taiwan he became its first President.
