French Economic Thought; Jean-Baptiste Say and Frederic Bastiat to....THIS?

And, yes, I'm 75% sure that it doesn't represent progress.

Sure it does. They are sticking it to the "rich" alright and helping all the poor, while driving a lot of the people who are actually in the position to employ people in the first place. It's called capital flight, or in this case, more like capital fright. I can't tell whether this guy is plain stupid or evil, but I suspect a combination of stupidity and not having to face the tough realities of life. Notice how he grew up in an upper middle class family. Look up his background. No sign of him actually doing anything in the private sector.

Shame on France, the country that produced some of the greatest thinkers and philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment.

Typo: I meant to say driving a lot of these people out of the country.

Indeed it does not represent progress.

It sounds like a fair number of people have fled already, gents. I just saw one story in fact about the actor, Gerard Depardieu, tossing off France and moving to Belgium.
