Bear Mcready's 'All Along the Watchtower' barely tops Hendrix's, I think.

Yet another derivative joke.

Will: Yet another derivative joke.

What's wrong with being derivative? Or do you just like pointing out the obvious?

And you're got way more Libertarian (Objectivist) leanings than I have Marxist leanings. Karl Marx's analysis of the problem with Capitalism was correct. His solution was wrong.

I'm a Democratic Socialist who believes in a mixed economy.

Look up "Dipshit" and that mutts picture is there.

A mixed economy in which only the socialist side gets emphasized. East Germany would have been a glorious place for you.

Karl Marx' analysis was completely incorrect. Pseudo-science at its worst, part and parcel of the very regressive idea of socialism: one of the worst mistakes in history. One that sought to reverse the progress of the Magna Carta, US Constitution, and all other efforts to protect the people from the rapaciousness of the rulers.

Democratic socialism? A system of tyranny in which the rulers are chosen by a vote is still tyranny.

Unlike you, I oppose mixing freedom with tyranny. There's simply no need to mix the bad in.

The "Third Way" you harp on was a movement within the Left. A compromise between essentially evil statist policies and good policies of popular control of the economy involving freedom and capitalism.

Unlike dmarks I oppose mixing freedom with plutocratic tyranny. There's simply no need to mix any more of the bad in. We need to reverse course and get as much of it out as possible.

Yhe "third way" is a movement that betrayed the Left. It came about when Conservative Democrats compromised between good populist policies that benefit the 99 percent and the evil wealthy-worshiping rightwing economic policies that favor the 1 percent.

From the dmarks dictionary...

Freedom = something those with the most money are able to buy the most of.

Popular Control = When those with the most wealth control our economy to their benefit.

Ruling Elites = The representatives of "we the people" that don't adequately represent the interests of the wealthy.

Tyranny = Any system of government where those with the most money aren't in control.

The "third way" is a movement entirely within the left. It is the idea that it is good to mix in a nod to the ruled among left-wing policies which favor only the rulers. As it has a high tolerance for oppressive top-down policies, it remains firmly in the Left."

"Freedom = something those with the most money are able to buy the most of."

That's not my dictionary at all. My views are without regard to any money anyone has. Thus they are in line with the Bill of Rights, which also protects civil liberties regardless of income.

"Popular Control = When those with the most wealth control our economy to their benefit."

Again, completely untrue. By popular control, I mean the people control it. As opposed to the rulers using the trademark "we the people".

"Ruling Elites = The representatives of "we the people" that don't adequately represent the interests of the wealthy."

The ruling elites can be described as representatives. But they look after their own interests first. This is the way it has been ever since mankind first thought of "government". You are a gullible boob to be ignorant of this. The Founding Fathers were well aware that the real problem was the rapacious nature of the power of the ruling elites: this is why we have the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights limits what the rulers can do against the real "we the people".

"Popular Control = When those with the most wealth control our economy to their benefit.

Actually, I am referring to the 100%. And only 1% of them are the super rich. I defend the rights of the 99% to make their own decisions. You want the government to make these decisions for them.

Reading yet another rant from WD, it is so clear that he despises the Bill of Rights. That makes him an extreme radical here. And he is probably alone in being this way.

G.E., G.M., Philip Morris, the pharmaceutical conglomerates, Goldman Sachs, Fannie and Freddie, etc. all seem to be doing quite well with a Democrat as President, thank you very much. You want to get rid of all of the big money in politics, elect Gary Johnson.
