The Dumbsfeld Doctrine 2

And General Franks sounds like a real piece of work, too; his cockiness, his lack of a workable strategy, etc..

He wasn't exactly a Petraeus-
"He dropped out of college after two years due to subpar grades and lack of motivation. Franks decided to give himself a "jolt" and joined the United States Army, reportedly nursing a hangover while at the local recruiter's office" went to artillery OCS and the usual rise up the ranks.
"..criticism from officers who had served under Franks who put forth that, while tactically sound, he lacked the strategic mindset and overall intellect necessary for the task" -and unfortunately,
"..Franks' involvement with the charitable Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, which he charged $100,000 to use his name to raise money for wounded soldiers."
..worst of all, Franks was in over his head...and worked for a Defense Secretary that was way over
his head....

Kind of sounds like the Peter Principle at work here.

Clif scares me way more than wd does, Russ. I would really prefer to avoid the guy if possible.......Good question, Les. Probably out plotting his next W diatribe/sturm and drang.

I don't remember Clif, but he sounds like a Cliff Clavin type.
