While I'm generally not a big fan of sweetheart deals for individual businesses (I much prefer lower taxes across the board), it's really hard to see this as anything but a huge loss for New York City (this as the socialists celebrated). Hopefully some new leadership will eventually emerge (another Ed Koch type perhaps) and dropkick these Sandinista Democrats to the curb but until then you can probably expect a lot more buffoonish along these lines.
