On Republicans on Civil Liberties

They only seem to be worried about them when a Democratic President is violating them.

The same thing applies to many other things, including attitudes about the Middle East wars.

The anti-war kooks on the hard left are hypocrites also, calling it all Bush's fault.... when the wars in the Middle East became 100% Obama's over 4 years ago when he chose to continue (and in some cases, ramp up) the war efforts instead of getting everyone out within a few weeks of his inauguration.

Of course there are plenty of hypocrites on the Republican side too, who bash Obama harshly for doing what Bush did.

I've tried to be consistent on this stuff. Warrentless wire-taps and rendition were two of the things that I criticized Bush on and I really didn't feel comfortable saying, "never mind" when Obama started doing them just because I voted for him (in 2008, I obviously didn't vote for him last year).

Shouldn't they be worried? I don't trust Obama.

I don't trust Obama any more than I trusted Bush. As far I'm concerned, they've both consolidated power in the White House way too much.
