On Jim Carrey's Assertion (Via His Video Spoof) that Charlton Heston's Movies are "No Longer in Demand"

Wow, that's rich, huh, the guy who gave the world "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective" and "Bruce Almighty" shitting on the guy who gave us "Ben Hur", "El Cid", "The Big Country", "The Greatest Show on Earth", "The Agony and the Ecstasy", "Major Dundee", "The Ten Commandments", and "Touch of Evil"?...And all over frigging politics, too (yes, Mr. Heston supported gun rights but he also marched with Martin Luther King and served his country during World War 2). Excuse me, but I gotta go take a shower now.

Reminds of Tim Roth, who played Thade in Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" remake. On the set, he behaved unprofessionally and like an ass toward a certain actor due to this actor's involvement in Second Amendment issues. Yes, it was Charlton Heston (who, it turned out, was the ape with the gun in the movie).

Jim Carrey, it turns out, is hostile to Second Amendment rights. But as the above link shows, his views are for others, not himself. He believes in these rights for himself, actually. Add him to the list, along with Carl Rowan, of left-wing gun control activists who believe that they themselves should be protected by firearms, but not the average person.

So, Will, has this particular actor jumped the shark or whatever the term is as far as you are concerned? Do you think Dean Wormer will lecture him in one of your posts any time soon?

It's altogether possible and I'm pretty sure that word, irrelevant, will be used.

I totally agree with the second statement. The first one, eh.

A Canadian whose career is in freefall tries a revival by producing drivel.

Upchucking on a dead person (whether they be conservative or liberal) has never been very appealing to me.
