Eisenhower - Stevenson 1956

What would be my answer to the question, "So, when was the last time that this country had a Presidential election in which the country had a right to be proud about both candidates?"

Ford and Carter. No baggage. Decent men of integrity.

Les, I think that if you combined Bush 1's decency with Clinton's effectiveness you could probably end up with something good.......Truth/dmarks, I did consider Ford and Carter for the reasons that you cited. I just thought that they weren't quite effective enough to say that I was proud of them.

Honestly, dmarks, I voted for Perot and I ain't really all that proud of it.

Still, he had a lot of integrity, and was an actual deficit hawk.

At worst he was kinda crazy. But corrupt? I don't think anyone would accuse of of that. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, I was thinking more of the paranoia here (the Republican dirty tricks people ruining his daughter's wedding, etc.).
