Miscellaneous 41

1) The programming commercial for tonight's' "O'Reilly Factor" was one that heavily promoted/promised its viewers a stellar, "all-star lineup". Of course, it then proceeded to tell us who these individuals were. The lineup specifically consisted of Brit Hume, Glenn Beck, Bernard Goldberg, Mary Katharine Ham, Juan Williams, and John Stossel (five conservatives and one moderate/exceedingly tame liberal, in other words). Now don't get me wrong here. Those are some fairly decent guests (Mr. Beck, possibly excepted). But collectively, NO, it doesn't even remotely resemble a fair and balanced itinerary (something, I'm sure, that even Mr. O'Reilly himself would have to admit - you know, after a couple of brewskis or so).............2) Mr. O'Reilly also refrained from showing that tape in which Barbara Bush states how she wishes that Sarah Palin would simply "go back to Alaska". His excuse for this was that he didn't know the "context" and proceeded to give some boneheaded reason pertaining to how he didn't want to get "burned again" after that whole Shirley Sherrod episode....He lied, in other words.............3) I mean, come on, let's face it here. The real reason that Mr. O'Reilly didn't show that tape was the same reason that Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity didn't show it. He didn't want to embarrass a fellow conservative (a co-worker, no less). It's as simple as that, folks.............4) Speaking of Sarah Palin, if I were an Obamaite, not only would I be rooting for her (to get the Republican nomination in '012), I'd be frigging campaigning for her (undercover, obviously). I mean, come on, think about it. Of all the prospective Republican nominees, who has a lesser appeal among moderates and independents than Sarah Palin? And even if the economy doesn't get any better in the next two years, I don't know, I just can't see the electorate of this country making that woman President....Let's just call it the Sharron Angle/Christine O'Donnell Syndrome.

I'm not an expert on politics, Tee, but their does seem to be a sort of glass ceiling for these Tea Party candidates. Angle, O'Donnell, Miller, Buck, that crazy guy from New York - all of them were rejected soundly....I see a similar fate for Ms. Palin if she decides to run nationally.

Does'nt look like a very happy Thanksgiving for Obie. The Zogby poll released to day has his approval rating at 39% and 60% of those polled said they disapprove of his job performance.

Not only that, but what the hell is going on? George W. Bush writes a 500 page memoir and Obie publishes a kids coloring book.Strange days indeed.

You gotta remember, Russ. Reagan and Clinton were even lower after their 1st 2 years. The son of a gun can still rally. And I'm telling you here, if the Republicans are foolish enough to nominate Palin....

And Rasmussen has it 48% approval 51% disapproval (trending upward for President Obama BTW), so what is your point rusty, just trying to cherry pick polls, to feel better about the President of The United States, elected by a majority of the population which cast ballots unlike Bush in 2000, whom you seem to hate so much??

Yep anonymouse,he was most certainly elected.....just like Jimmy Carter was elected and with pretty similar results I'm guessing. One and done.

Mouse,my point is...two years into his first and hopefully only term Obie is an abject failure.
You cant make custard out of this mustard.

While I don't have as strongly a visceral feeling about this President as you gentlemen seem to, I will say that "abject failure" might in fact be a bit premature. And I certainly hope that it's inaccurate. I mean we all want the economy to get better, right, the 2 political parties to work together, etc.?

An abject failure?

Helped save the United States Auto industry over the objections of the republicans?

Credible sources state 2,000,000 jobs were saved at the least. Probably more since if Chrysler and GM would have gone under the supply chain would have collapsed and sent Ford and the foreign factories here under also.

Got Health Care reform done something every president since Roosevelt wrestled with. This is slated to save tax payers tens of billions even if the republicans and fox news lies about the savings. It also will help tens of millions get AFFORDABLE health care something many have had to go without.

Stopped the free fall of the economy with his policies, to wit: after the stimulus kicked in job losses STOPPED.

PS this included a small business and middle class tax cut, which people on the right lie about.

The corporate overloads have had a banner quarter, even though they are still lying and screeching how bad President Obama has been (like you are doing here.)

Failure?????

Only in the cherry picked right wing world view you live in rusty.

Remember the right wing thought that Nov '96 was gonna be a cake walk in Nov '94, how'd that one work out for you?

Mouse must have the lib talking point taped to his keyboard.

Saved or created 3 million jobs.Where? How?

Obamacare will save billions, not costing taxpayer anything. How?

Oh poor mouse, still drinking the Kool Aid.

Mordechai said...

Sorry rusty but CBO figures, just not the right wing talking points you push.

PS: GM has held a IPO something the could not have done if the republican plans had been followed.

Barack Obama did the same as Gerald Ford when he helped create Conrail, you know the railroad company formed from the seven bankrupted railroad corporations, which benefited the north east/midwest with good rail traffic and returned to the US Government money when Reagan sold them, BTW which both CSX and Norfolk Southern wanted in 1999.

Barack Obama was following a republican president's precedent with the same results jobs saved and good economic outcome for all, except venom filled right wing ideologues like you.

Seems your historical knowledge is as bad here as the hopes you have for a different outcome this time vs 1994-96.

But far right partisans have never dealt with the truth, just slander(IE the kool aide reference) denial if facts (the questioning of the number of jobs saved), or outright deception including LYING about what others post. IE, your LIE Obamacare will save billions, not costing taxpayer anything. How?

I NEVER said anything like that, I only said the health care reforms would save tax payer money vs NO reform.

Why do you stoop to lying instead of the truth and real facts?

Oh right ,

You're a far right fringe partisan, who seems not to care about facts just the far right fringe talking points, something you always stoop to in debates.
