And Then There Was One
So, we've gone from, what, "Hannity and Colmes" to just "Hannity" now? Hm, and the difference is....what? I mean, seriously, though, folks, isn't that pretty much what it always was?........................................................... This is not, of course, to imply that Colmes was always just a potted-plant. This, I'm saying in that the guy actually did provide resistance from time to time. He was certainly more effectual than some of the other so-called liberals over there; Mort Kondracke, Juan Williams, Kierston (who the hell is Kiersten Powers) Powers, etc.. But up against the boorish, lunacy ladened Sean Hannity, COME ON, the poor bastard was virtually swimming upstream nightly. And, yes, the fact that the "liberal" positions themselves were constantly under siege, you pretty much could have called it "Hannity" from the get.........................................................As for this new vehicle, in particular, let's just say that it is what it is/exactly what you'd expect it to be. This, me-buckos, in that, yep, you got it, Obama doesn't even get a chance to breathe, for Christ! I mean, talk about a microscope. I don't think he's found singular good thing yet; no praise for keeping Gates, no praise for picking Jones, no praise for reaching out to the religious-right, no praise for the free market man Summers, NOTHING!!! And the fact that he continued this tactic on Martin Luther King's birthday, the day before we swore in the first African-American President, damned if that, especially, didn't make me shiver, prompt me to change the channel, etc.. Sean Hannity, folks, got to love the son of a bitch, huh?.................................................................P.S. This is not to imply that everything that Hannity brings up is bogus/irrelevant. All that stuff about Geithner not paying his taxes is particularly legitimate. All I'm saying is that the guy seems ever so predisposed to hate Obama and that, yes, the end-result of it all (i.e., "Hannity") is embarrassing. Youza! Not that I'm going to stop watching it, of course.

Ain't it great Will?
Now I don't have to listen to Alan Colmes anymore.
I thought conservatives liked Colmes because he was listless, affable, and basically a punching-bag. Seriously, though, I don't like any of these shrill presenters; Hannity, O'Reilly, Olbermann, Limbaugh, Air America. I think they really do nothing but lower the dialogue of American politics.
I would agree with you on O'Reilly and Olbermann. Probably on Air America too. They are shrill and Air America in particular coarse and occaisionally vulgar and do lower the dialogue.
While I do like Hannity, he's kind of like a pit bull. He gets ahold of something and beats it like a dead horse. He can get old sometimes.
Limbaugh however is in a class by himself. Whenever I hear liberals calling Rush "hateful" and calling for violence against them I laugh because I know they've never listened to him. They get their information from liberal blogs like Media Matters, Daily Kos and Dem. Underground which pass around out of context sound bites.
Limbaugh is easily one of the most intelligent, thoughtful and charismatic people out there. The left hates him because he exposes their ideas with informed commentary and good (although sometimes irreverent) humor.
Most of his show revolves around long running themes and gags, and you can't listen just once and understand all of it.
Give him 2 or 3 weeks and see if you don't like him. I don't always agree with him, but he's not the hateful vindictive person the left makes him out to be.
You can tell a lot about a person by who their enemies are. Note that the LC goon squad doesn't like him....LOL
Oh, and note they're up in arms about Rush saying he hopes Obama fails.
What Rush ACTUALLY said was that he want's AMERICA to succeed and that IF Obama acts on his publicly stated
goals, which are socialist in nature, and which Rush believes will be disasterous for our country, he hopes he fails.
He's NOT rooting against America. Just socialism.
Hope I didn't just piss off Lydia.
I actually do think she's a decent person. Misguided, but decent.
I just don't appreciate the tone sometimes, the way that he makes fun of people's names; Senator Grahamnesty (Lindsey Graham), Senator Betrayus (Chuck Hagel), stuff like that. Bill Buckley never acted like this. Ditto, George Will. I don't know, maybe he's just an aquired taste, like scotch!! To each his own, right Volt?
I have a Limbaugh post. Neither of you will like it, but I'm brave and I'll take my chances.
Air America is better than you might think, Voltron. Have you heard Stephanie Miller? Thom Hartmann? I won't lie: I love Randi Rhodes. Rachel Maddow kept me sane when I had a job where I was forced to work 13-hour days. I am so happy for her success.
I don't get the repetition of liberal=socialism from the right. This is pretty much how many progressives feel:
And I ain't no communist
And I ain't no capitalist
And I ain't no socialist
And I ain't no imperialist
And I ain't no democrat
And I ain't no republican
I only know one party
And it is freedom
I am, I am, I am
I am a patriot
And I love my country
Because my county is all I know
~~Jackson Browne

Of course
Earth to Dolt Govt ownership and controls do not automagiclly equate to socialism. But I also implore you to read ALL of the words following We th People in our declaration of sovereignty.
This nation was created to provide for the general welfare the right and propper mission of any nation.
Not the welfare of specific individuals, groups or corperations THE GENERAL WELFARE, if you read that as EVIL SOCIALISM then you have a problem.
Too big to fail means the government has an obligation to force it to break up... not wait to the point where it has to bail it out and preserve it to save everyone else.
We are now paying the price for decades of letting our cooperate and financial institutions get too big, an too unregulated so they could try and compete with foreign institutions that are in fact STATE OWNED AND CONTROLLED. Japan, China and other nations have not observed the logic of limited Capitalism and have been allowed to exploit what was the free markets of the world.
It's past time to put our house back in order and look out for our country first, and enforce the values we believe in.
Step one is self preservation (the damned stimuli & bailouts) then it's rebuild and stop the foreign exploitation. Tariffs have a real and valuable purpose.
