Clearly an awkward statement given the circumstances but because I'm not an damned leftist hard-ass who makes a federal case over every sentence that a particular candidate spits out, I am more than willing to cut Mr. Biden some slack. Clearly he was using the statement in a colloquial sense and even if he wasn't we all say stupid shit when we're not out in public. And, plus, there are more than enough legitimate criticisms of Biden (as there are with Trump, to be sure) that we don't have to peddle in the word-parsing business.
