Multiculturalism is an enticing concept and decent enough in measure but if society can't muster up a common ethos sufficient enough to maintain stability and cohesion you end up with Azerbaijan, Iraq, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Sudan, Israel (yes, I included Israel, sue me), Yugoslavia, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, South Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Czechoslovakia, Thailand, etc., and I don't know 'bout you but, to me, that's untenable.
