Holocaust by Numbers

The Russians, Americans, and Zionists (all of whom despised the Germans) claimed that 6,000,000 Jews perished in German concentration camps. The International Red Cross claimed that the number was 271,301 (with most of them dying at the end of the conflict as the result of Allied bombing) while Holocaust denier, Ernst Zundel (who apparently hates the Jews), claims that the number is only about 20,000. I ask you, which of these parties has the least incentive to lie?......................................................................................P.S. Yes, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Belzec appear to be missing from the Red Cross report but even adding those (even using the ludicrously high 1,400,000 number) still wouldn't have gotten you anywhere near the 6,000,000 mark.

Discussion of the RC 1978 document at this denial site
including the comments section.
There are 30,000,000 other documents at Bad Arolsen, including original Nazi records.
It is known that the records are
far from complete, many having been destroyed as the allies approached. As far as an analysis of the data vis a vis denialists,
see here .

It was impossible to make an accurate count after the war in that there was ethnic cleansing all over the place (the Russians kicked all of the Jews out of Eastern Europe and into the Russian interior). My suspicion is that most of the Polish (and other European countries') Jews migrated to Israel, the U.S., South America, and elsewhere), etc........And why do you use the word, "denialist"? Most of the individuals that I've heard talk (including American Jew, David Cole, who interviewed numerous people at Auschwitz and got a bunch of contradictory double-talk) do not "deny" that the Jews were targeted and treated abysmally. They simply question the extent of it and the methods.......And what about when the mainstramers themselves reduced the death toll at Auschwitz from 4 million to 1.1 million but didn't deduct it from the overall tally, keeping it at the magic 6 million mark? That doesn't trouble you? Or the fact that Hollywood screenwriter, Ben Hecht, started using the number in 1943 - way before the moronic war even ended?

Trouble me? Heh, I went through the figures back in 1971-72 and after a review note that given
1. Census before and after the war
in each European country
2. The recorded data of the Einsatzgruppen, who followed the Wehrmacht into the dozens of invaded countries
3. The 'escape' figures which are low, perhaps 150,000 over the several years of persecution: most countries denied any entry, if they had the money to escape.
4. There is a plethora of data if you study it, and not try to cherry pick something to make a point.
Essentially, about half the victims were in the extermination camps, a quarter were rounded up and shot by the Einsatzgruppen and the remaining quarter died of
starvation/disease in the few permitted urban ghettos...and
the hundreds of thousands pressed into slave labor. Certainly, there is enough confusion about the numbers, given
the end of war chaos to be legitimately skeptical about:
but hardly enough to support the
blatant denial claims.

BB: right. Perhaps enough to call into question the 6,000,000 total and revise it to 5,800,000 ...

According to the official records, there were only 173,000 Jews to have ever gone to Auschwitz. And are you guys actually saying that the International Red Cross was 95.5% wrong and the Soviets who had already killed tens of millions of Ukrainians themselves were 100% right?

Prior to the war there were about 16 million Jews worldwide (this is what you have to look at and not strictly Europe) and after it there were a little less than 15 million. Considering that about a million Jews died while serving in the Russian army and that there was a lot of collateral damage for ALL ethnicities, the 6 million number seems quite ludicrous and actually has its origin in the early 19th century (they liked it as a round number, I guess).
